ReplaceItems does not work for me (I think it has worked a year ago or so), I've recreated every step as you have but it does not want to activate the script. I've tried other scripts and it seems to be working.

Much appreciated! I also found the "Random Swatches Fill" script very useful to, well, randomly choose shapes! hahaha I use the script to add random colors to the selected shapes beforehand. So, just select a single shape, do Select > Same > Fill Color and just then making the substituions... much better than choosing one by one :D
